FAQ's

What Should I Expect?

You can schedule your referral appointment directly or through your veterinarian. After hour emergencies do not require a referral.  We recommend arriving fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow adequate time for processing your records. The specialists or emergency veterinarian will ask you a series of questions about your pet's illness and perform a thorough physical examination. Recommendations for further diagnostics and/or treatments will be made which you may accept or decline. We will gladly provide you with a written estimate of anticipated fees for treatment/procedures. Emergency cases will be evaluated and treated promptly. Patients with life-threatening problems will receive the highest priority.

Many patients will be evaluated, treated, and discharged the same day. Patients requiring extended diagnostics or procedures may need to stay the entire day, overnight or several days. Critically ill patients or patients recovering from surgery may require longer periods of hospitalization. The doctor caring for your pet will discuss this with you. Clients will be informed of their pet's status on a daily basis and you are welcome to call us and get an update on your pet's status. VRCC has doctors and staff 24/7 and during emergency hours  we have a specialist from internal medicine and surgery on call. Your pet is never unattended.
